SixLee Spring Summer 2016 brought the attention to the work of an Italian Tape Artist No Curves. He brings tape art around the world through a cutting-edge minimal style. No Curves' minimalist style involves an innovative technique in which he carefully slices strips of tape and layers the colors together until images emerge from the intersection of lines. His style of work is complex and, according to one reviewer, "The technique of adhesive tape leads the image to the strictest terms, and the lines intermingle, collide, and overlap, becoming the somatic traits of the characters but also symbol of the neural and synaptic connections at the basis of the art of 'creating.'
With the inspiration from a collection of different colors tapes and techniques, line and stripe represent the symbolic of the “connection”. The “connection” interpretation in a very sensitive way, techniques such as heat on transfer, embroidery and faux leather panel were playing the main role of this collection. The concept of disconnecting the fabrics itself and connect them together in a different way. Striped Jacques, Striped Wool and Cotton, Striped Transparent Silk Cotton are the main fabrics for this collection, to show the sensitivity of the mixture of textures and stripes. College Blazer, Range Jacket, Bomber Jacket and polo shirts were the main shapes and inspired from the vintage elements. Shinny, Coated and Metallic fabrics and yarns were chosen to give a sense of shininess when you are isolated. The collection itself was mainly focused on showing a message about when a person is connectedly disconnected, even when you are isolated, you still hope to reach out for someone that you could sincerely related to and connected.
