Hong Kong-based menswear designer Six Lee invites London-based artist, Lee Marshall to create the Fall Winter 2015 Collection campaign artwork, taking inspiration from the imaginative pieces and the season’s story - “We’re all searching for meaning”. The campaign artwork launched on the 24th October 2015 on the SixLee website.
The SixLee Fall Winter 2015 Collection appeals to the explorer in us. The tradition of classical tailoring collides with futuristic graphical edges and textures in luxurious fabrics that are shiny, stiff, coated, woollen, cashmere. With oversized
shapes and dreamy pastel shades, the collection is given playful highlights with hidden details under the collars, in pockets and plackets. Each piece showcases signature SixLee characteristics - ‘elegantly tailored silhouettes in rich materials’.
For the campaign artwork, Lee Marshall has integrated the Fall Winter collection, photographed by Zeb Daeman, into collage based pieces to bring the story to life. Influenced by the visual culture that surrounds him, Marshall’s work investigates the symbolic and suggestive properties of images and the thresholds within the language of painting. The imagery in his work is appropriated from a rich variety of sources, predominantly collaged from magazines and the internet, 'quoted' from art history, or taken from Marshall's own visual vocabulary of forms and marks made by his own hand. Often working collaboratively with other creative industries, Marshall was commissioned to create the artwork for a collection of limited edition skateboard decks by British brand Isle Skateboards in 2013 and has been invited to exhibit at new womenswear boutique Finch in Norwich, UK in 2015.
